The Living Squid
Hey, been doin' lots and no time for postin' but I have a few old Korean post left. Here goes it...maybe next one will be more about what's been going on lately.

My last night in Korea, I finally got to eat "the living squid"...at least that is the direct translation I got from my Korean friend Joo-Mee. However, on YouTube I have found a bunch of other posts about the dish described as Octopus, so go figure? Anyway, forgive the awkward cam. I was by myself with only my still camera to grab video with...it's hard to tape yourself eating things that still move.

So, how did it taste? I love sushi, but I got creeped out when I tried some things that still had eyes attached.

You know, it really was good. I thought I might not like it, but I ended up really enjoying it. The texture wasn't bad and I love the spice. On the lettuce leaf you put a little raw garlic and red pepper paste. YUMMY!!

dude...did the squid taste you back?

there was a similar 'challenge' on the amazing race (yes...i know) where the contestants had to eat a whole plateful of live squid/octopus before receiving their next clue...

jesus...reminds me of family parties...

I don't think it could tast anything back though I have heard tales of a tentacle wrapping around someones uvula.

Haven't seen it...the amazing race, that is. Or is that the one where teams of two travel around the world?

I love it if my family were serving that!

re: amazing race... yup, that is the one...a guilty pleasure to see americans stumble their way around the globe... now if only the contestants can see how ridiculous they look when they demand those around conform to them...

yes...fear factor has featured filipino fare alongside haggis and other delectables...

OH.... MY.... GOD...

Are you kidding me? That was you... that was live... I just threw up a little in my mouth and shat the tiniest bit in my office chair... the grunt that errupted my lips has drawn a crowd outside my office....

I stand up for you, Sir!

I don't know if you'd consider it live. If my arm was removed from my body and still moving would I consider it alive? If it crawled away and went on a killing spree, I'd say yeah. Oh, I just reminded myself of a horror movie from my childhood that scared the bejesus out of me....have you ever seen The Hand?

Sorry 'bout the regurgitation.
